Course Content

The Health of the Nation Outcome Scales (HoNOS) is a widely-used clinical tool for measuring the health and social functioning of people with mental health issues. It was developed to provide a standardized method for assessing outcomes in mental health services.

The scales are designed to cover various aspects of mental and behavioral health, including cognitive impairment, physical health, activities of daily living, relationships, symptoms, and social functioning.

In this session we will explore the domains of HoNOS and the application of the tool and how to score the results. HoNOS can be used in a variety of Mental Health settings and this will also be discussed as part of this education session.

Why this session may be relevant to your work

Part of my work involves the assessment of people with a mental health issue. Knowing how to correctly apply the assessment tool and interpret the data is vital to the ongoing care of the person.
